Services for Older Adults

Getting older shouldn’t stop you from living independently.

Nearly 75,000 people in Boulder County are over age 60. Our services help older adults stay safe, healthy, and independent in their homes and communities. We can help with money, health care, long-term care, and more. We also help protect adults of any age from harm.

Need help with money, health care, or daily care?

These programs might be right for you:

  • Old Age Pension (OAP)
Gives money monthly to people age 60 and older with low or no income. Some people may also qualify for Medicaid.
  • Long Term Care Medicaid
Helps people who need ongoing care. It can help pay for services like in-home help, adult day programs, nursing homes, or PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).
  • Medicare Savings Program (MSP)
Helps people with low income pay for Medicare. This includes monthly premiums, deductibles (the amount you pay before insurance starts), and co-insurance (your share of the cost after insurance pays its part).

More support for older adults:

  • Boulder County Area Agency on Aging (AAA)
Offers programs for older adults, caregivers, veterans, and people with disabilities.
  • Burial Assistance
Helps cover funeral and burial costs for people with low income.
  • Adult Protection Services (APS)
Helps adults age 18 and older who may be hurt, abused, or not getting the care they need. APS looks into reports and offers help to keep people safe. Call 303-441-1309 any time, day or night. If someone is in danger, call 9-1-1 right away.
