Healthcare providers who provide immunizations are essential because they are foundational to the health and well-being of individuals and society. From preventing disease to diagnosing and treating illnesses, healthcare professionals are a vital resource for navigating health challenges at every stage of life.
Immunization Provider Resources
The Vaccines for Children (VFC) program provides vaccines at no cost for children ages 18 years and younger who are uninsured, underinsured, are eligible for or are currently on Medicaid, and/or are Alaskan Native/American Indian. There are over 500 provider offices, community health centers, and local public health agencies that participate in the VFC Program in Colorado. Become a VFC provider to ensure vaccine availability to all children and increase vaccine uptake in Boulder County.
Immunization records are confidential, personal medical information. The Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS) is a lifelong immunization record tracking system under the Colorado Immunization Registry Act of 2007.
- Health care providers can use CIIS to check a patient’s vaccination status, review recommended vaccines and manage their vaccine inventory

In the first half of 2022, Boulder County Public Health commissioned a study on vaccine hesitancy in Boulder County among parents of children aged 0–11 years. Consultants from Godot Communications conducted a series of independent Spanish and English focus groups to explore the web of influence, emotion, information, and misinformation underlying the community’s decision-making.
