Post-Adoption Program

We support adoptive families in Boulder County by connecting them with helpful resources and community programs. Our goal is to give families a safe place to ask for help, find support, and feel understood.

You can get help if:

  • You adopted a child through Boulder County Human Services.

  • You adopted a child somewhere else, but now live in Boulder County.

We provide support to meet the needs of adoptive families. Our services include:

  • A family support specialist who can meet with you at home
  • Help speaking up for your family’s needs (advocacy)
  • Family fun events
  • Help with certain costs
  • A lending library with helpful books and materials
  • Workshops and training for parents
  • Scholarships to attend conferences
  • Information about other community resources
  • Parent discussion groups
    • We offer monthly support groups for adoptive and kinship parents. These groups are a great way to meet others, talk through challenges, and build a strong support network.

Do you need post-adoption support? Contact either Gisela Hernandez (ghernandez@bouldercounty.gov, 303-441-1123) or Marla Slade (mslade@bouldercounty.gov, 303-441-1534).
