Essential Skills - Virtual, 1.5 hours This workshop focuses on the core skills needed to succeed in today’s evolving workplace and build long-term career growth. Participants will learn which essential skills are most valued by employers and examine current and emerging labor market trends that highlight the increasing importance of these skills. The Boulder County Elections Division will conduct a Logic and Accuracy Test (LAT) on Tuesday, Sept. 29, on ballots and equipment to be used for the 2026 General Election. The test ensures voting system equipment properly tabulates votes. Each type of ballot and all ballot styles will be tested to verify they are properly printed and read by the scanning equipment. The test will also confirm that scanning equipment settings are properly calibrated for the ballots. This event is to the public but RSVP is requested due to space limitations. Testing will take place in the Ballot Processing Center at 1750 33rd Street in Boulder. Testing will begin at 10 a.m. and will take until at least 5 p.m. You do not have to stay for the full day. Additionally, the testing may continue into Wednesday, Sept 30 given the length of the ballot. After testing concludes, results will be available on our website. Open public comment addressed to the County Commissioners typically occurs at 9 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month unless the date falls on a holiday or needs to be rescheduled due to a calendar conflict. Members of the public can sign up to speak in advance or on the day of public comment. Public comment is taken in-person (in the hearing room) or virtually via Zoom. Check the Commissioners' Advance Agenda to confirm meeting date one week prior to regularly scheduled date. Reserve a speaking spot using the either the "In Person" or "Virtual Attendee" link on the Commissioners' Advance Agenda. Join the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance and Boulder County Parks & Open Space for a morning of riding the beginner and kid friendly trails at Heil Valley Ranch. This event will have mini-skills clinics, route suggestions, bike decorating materials, and educational information. This event is recommended for families with kids ages 3 to 10. Free loaner kids' mountain bikes and helmets will be available, or you can bring your own mountain bike and helmet. Guided rides with Boulder Mountainbike Alliance for all ages start at 9:30 and depart every half hour. Come anytime between 9 a.m. to noon for bike decorating and independent exploration of the trails. Children must be accompanied by an adult. You'll hear from Weld and Boulder County residents on what it is like to work and observe an election. This event is moderated by the Boulder County Clerk, Molly Fitzpatrick, and the Weld County Clerk, Carly Koppes. The event is hosted by the Town of Erie, and is happening at the Erie Community Center, the location of a new joint Vote Center for Weld and Boulder County residents.
