Hammering On the Farm

Agricultural Heritage Center 8348 Ute Hwy, Longmont

Drop by anytime from 10 a.m. to noon to watch the blacksmith work his craft. Listen to the clang-clang-clang of the hammer and the hum of the coal forge blower. Learn about blacksmithing tools, such as hammers, tongs, anvils, swage blocks, and more. All ages welcome. Registration for most programs begins on the 20th of the month before the event. Registration is not required for this activity, but you can still sign up to be notified in case the event is unexpectedly canceled. Join volunteer naturalists to learn about birding year-round in Boulder County.  This program will explore where to find and how to identify some of our local and migratory birds and introduce you to an amazing range of ecosystems and habitats. Astronomy: A Planetary Lineup

Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain 14950 N. 55th St., Longmont

What does it mean when planets are in conjunction with each other? And how do these conjunctions happen? Presentations will be at the picnic shelter, followed by stargazing in the parking area. The Longmont Astronomical Society provides telescopes. Bring a chair or blanket, a light jacket, and a red flashlight, and get ready to enjoy a night under the stars!
