We're excited to host our quarterly Birding Big Sit at the Walden Ponds shelter! This inclusive event allows park users to both stand or sit to watch birds. Spotting scope and optics will be available to borrow and use. This is a drop-in event for anyone who wants to see birds. All skill levels are welcome. Registration is not required for this activity, but you can still sign up to be notified in case the event is unexpectedly canceled. Celebrate 50 Years of Parks & Open Space: Agriculture Tour

As part of the Boulder County Parks & Open Space 50th anniversary celebration, community members are invited to take a special behind-the-scenes look at local agriculture. Join us for a guided bus tour of two working farms located on county open space. You’ll visit medium and large-scale operations and meet the producers who help steward the land. These farmers have deep roots in the area and will share their personal stories, challenges, and successes of working the land in Boulder County. Agriculture is a vital part of Boulder County’s history and future. On this tour, you’ll learn how the county supports local food production, protects agricultural lands, and balances conservation with working landscapes. Wildfire Partners at Boulder Rural Fire Open House

Wildfire Partners will be taking part on this community event to educate, motivate, and support Boulder County residents in preparing for future wildfires. When: Saturday August 23rd from 10:00am-2:00pm. Where: Station 1 (6230 Lookout Rd. Boulder, CO 80301) Event open to the public.
