Hike with a Ranger

July is the month to celebrate rangers worldwide and all the wonderful work they do for the outdoors. Join a ranger and an outdoor educator for a guided hike at Caribou Ranch to celebrate the ranger in you! Come prepared to hike 1-3 miles. Wear sunscreen and sturdy shoes and bring along water, bug spray, and a hat. Registration required. Fun on the Farm: Piggies

Agricultural Heritage Center 8348 Ute Hwy, Longmont

Children ages 3-6 will love to visit the farm to learn about animals, plants, and agricultural life. The Piggies program shares a great pig story and then we get to meet our pigs in person! All programs include a short story time, hands-on activities, and a take-home craft. Afterwards, explore the farm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Fun on the Farm is the 2nd and 4th Fridays through September. Registration for most programs begins on the 20th of the month before the event. Registration is not required for this activity, but you can still sign up to be notified in case the event is unexpectedly canceled. Astronomy: The Moon

Join volunteer naturalists and astronomers from the Longmont Astronomical Society for a series of summer night astronomy programs. Together we'll learn about the night skies and view the celestial bodies residing in our galaxy and beyond. Let’s talk about our amazing moon! We’ll discuss its craters and mountains, and human interactions. We'll also discuss its interactions with the sun and earth, the interactions that create solar and lunar eclipses. Bring a chair or blanket, a light jacket, and a red flashlight, and get ready to enjoy a night out with the family. The presentation is at the picnic shelter. It is followed by stargazing in the parking area. Telescopes are provided by the Longmont Astronomical Society. Registration for most programs begins on the 20th of the month before the event.
