The foothills are a dynamic ecosystem that transforms in the winter. As the snow falls and the temperatures drop, plants and animals must adapt to survive in the harsh conditions. Join us for a moderate 4-mile hike in the foothills as we look for signs of wildlife and learn about the food chain changes in the winter and unique challenges and opportunities that this season brings. From the majestic elk to the tiny least chipmunk, winter in the foothills is a testament to the resilience of life. Registration for most programs begins on the 20th of the month before the event.
