Election Results

  • The Ward 1 Special Election in Longmont was held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

    • Canvass Documents — These are the reports related to the certification of the election, including the post-election risk-limiting audit and reconciliation report and any related documents.
      • The risk-limiting audit is a post-election quality assurance test that ensures the accuracy of election results and provides citizens with evidence that election outcomes reflect the votes cast. The results of the risk-limiting audit are captured in the audit report.
      • The reconciliation report summaries the process that provides the evidence for the Canvass Board to certify that the number of votes counted is equal to or less than the number of ballots cast and that the number of ballots cast is equal to or less than the number of eligible voters. This document also includes the certification of election statement.

Special Election Key Dates:

  • January 12: Ballots mailed/transmitted to Ward 1 military and overseas voters
  • January 30: Logic and Accuracy Test – official testing of ballots and election equipment
  • February 5: Ballots mailed to Ward 1 voters; Select 24-hour boxes open (check back for locations)
  • February 16: Last day for the County Clerk’s office to mail a voter a replacement ballot.
  • February 19: Select Voter Service and Polling Centers open (see below)
  • February 27: Election Day; Polls open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

24-Hour Ballot Drop-off Locations – Open 24 hours starting Monday, February 5, and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, February 27

  • St. Vrain Hub, 529 Coffman St. (north end of building near entrance to Motor Vehicle offices)

Walk-up Ballot Drop-off Location – Longmont Civic Center, City Clerk’s Office, 350 Kimbark Street

  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, February 5 through February 26 (CLOSED February 19)
  • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 27 (Election Day)

Drive-by Ballot Drop Location – Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election Day ONLY (Tuesday, February 27)

  • Clark Centennial Park, Alpine Street lot (east side of park) just south of Centennial Pool

Voting in-person – Voter Service and Polling Center

  • Voters may visit the Voter Service and Polling Center to:
    • Drop off your ballot
    • Cast a ballot in person
    • Request a replacement ballot
    • Register to vote or update your registration information
    • Vote using equipment and facilities for persons with disabilities
