Can I still prepay my taxes?
Prepayment is no longer being accepted for 2025 taxes payable in 2026.
When can I expect a refund?
Once we process the tax roll from the Assessor, we will apply prepayments to taxes you owe. Any amount you overpaid will be returned to you in a check from our office. We expect to start sending out refunds beginning in February.
What if I owe money?
If your prepayment was not sufficient to cover your 2025 taxes, payable in 2026, we will notify you of the amount still owing. Any balance due should be sent to our office by Jan. 31.
You can mail payments to our office at:
Boulder County Treasurer
PO Box 471
Boulder, CO 80306
or, overnight, at:
Boulder County Treasurer
1325 Pearl St
Boulder, CO 80302
Can I deduct my prepaid taxes on my federal income tax return?
Whether or not you can include your prepaid taxes on your federal return is determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)– not our office. You may want to consult a tax professional, or contact the IRS directly.
Where can I find a receipt?
You can look up your property tax account. Payment receipts are located on the left side of your account page, with the most recent listed first. Please note that your receipt will show your prepayment applied to your account in the prior tax year. At the time you made your payment, we had not yet begun the new tax year in our system.
