Contest Details
To enter, craft a reuse masterpiece using at least one product from the Boulder County Hazardous Materials Management Facility’s Reuse Area. Reuse materials are available free of charge during regular business hours: Wednesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The facility is closed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
How to Submit an Entry
- Email your submission to: HazMatAll@bouldercounty.gov
- Include the following:
- Your name
- A photo of your project
- A description of the product used from the Reuse Area
- Optional: Include your social media handle/account for additional exposure!
Permission
By submitting an entry, you grant Boulder County permission to use your photo and name in print and online.
Winning Entries
- A winner will be selected quarterly and receive a gift card.
- Winners will be notified by email.
- The winning photo will be displayed in the Reuse Area, featured on our website, and shared across our social media channels.

Ryan Beckenhauer – Congratulations! Ryan Beckenhauer or @stumpdaddycolorado made amazing creations using old tree stumps and Spar Urethane and Poly Urethane from our Reuse area at the HMMF. Such amazing creations
Julie Kizes – Congratulations! Julie created a beautiful mural in Old Town Lafayette using latex paints from our Reuse Area at the HMMF. She also used paints from Greensheen paint recyclers, where HMMF sends latex paints, and rescued paints from the Larimer County Reuse Area. A true reuse champion!
Lucy Judson – Congratulations! Lucy made Harry Potter wands using wood stains from the Boulder County HMMF and wood from Resource Central! A super creative and sustainable creation!
Tiffany Boyd – Congratulations! Tiffany and Boulder County students created a mural in Louisville using latex paints from the HMMF! Well done!
Victoria Yu – Congratulations! Victoria created unique art pieces using latex paints, spray paints, and wood stains from the HMMF! We love the creativity!
