Property Tax Deferral Program

What is property tax deferral?

The property tax deferral program allows seniors, military personnel called into active service, and others to defer payment of property taxes. The State of Colorado manages eligibility and makes tax payments to the county on behalf of taxpayers accepted to the program. The tax payments are a loan to the taxpayer from the state, for which interest is charged, and the loan is logged as a lien against the property. Repayment can be made at any time, and must be made when the taxpayer no longer qualifies for deferral.

You can find information and sign up for the program at the Colorado property tax deferral program website.
