Boulder County Human Services gives money to local groups that help people in our community. This money is a grant, so groups do not pay it back.
The Community Partnership Grant pays for local programs. These programs help Boulder County residents find and keep housing, get healthcare and food, learn new skills, and stay safe. We focus on groups that serve people who have faced the most barriers to getting help.
Since 2017, our funding has focused on four main areas.
Housing Help
Programs that help people find a home and keep it. Examples include help paying rent, legal help, shelter, and support moving from homelessness into housing.
Learning and Job Skills
Programs that help people learn at any age. Examples include childcare, tutoring, and job training.
Health and Well-Being
Programs that improve physical and mental health. Examples include healthcare, counseling, food help, and wellness activities.
Family and Personal Support
Programs that help people stay safe and manage daily life. Examples include Family Resource Centers, help with money and money coaching, legal help, safety from violence, and ways to connect with others.
Groups apply for this money, and we choose the programs that best fit our goals and priority areas.
The money comes from two county funds:
In 2024, Boulder County chose 27 nonprofit groups to receive grant money in 2025 and 2026. Groups received $7.9 million in 2025.
More people now need help with basic needs like food, housing, and healthcare. To help meet that need, the Boulder County Commissioners raised all grant awards by 5% for 2026.
Grants awarded for 2027 will last one year, not two.
The application period for 2027 funding is closed. Applications were due Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at 5 p.m. Thank you to every group that applied.
Boulder County Human Services offered about $8.5 million in grant money for 2027. These grants last one year. They pay for nonprofit programs that help Boulder County residents find a home, stay healthy, and build stable lives.
Boulder County is now reviewing all applications. We will tell applicants our funding decisions later this year. Grants start Jan. 1, 2027.
