Description
Join volunteer naturalists and astronomers from the Longmont Astronomical Society for a series of summer night astronomy programs. Together we'll learn about the night skies and view the celestial bodies residing in our galaxy and beyond.
The constellations that make up the astrological signs follow the path of the ecliptic along with the moon and the planets. Find out what the ecliptic is and how Astronomy and Astrology are out of sync because of the procession of earth.
Bring a chair or blanket, a light jacket, and a red flashlight, and get ready to enjoy a night out with the family. The presentation is at the picnic shelter. It is followed by stargazing in the parking area. Telescopes are provided by the Longmont Astronomical Society.
Registration for most programs begins on the 20th of the month before the event.
