These housing communities not only provide below-market-rate housing but also strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment for their residents. Resident services programs are a way to invest in the well-being of residents, especially the youth, to break down barriers and create a pathway for a brighter and more inclusive future. We aspire to create a supportive and uplifting environment where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Looking for individuals from all walks of life who share a commitment in creating a positive impact. Volunteers can contribute in various ways, such as organizing community events, facilitating educational programs (cooking class, dance class, arts, and crafts) providing tutoring to the youth, or assisting in the maintenance of communal spaces. Through these volunteer efforts, Kestrel and Aspinwall aspire to build a supportive network that extends beyond the physical structures of the housing complexes.

Aged 21 or older, own transportation or able to use public transportation. Volunteers must commit to at least 2 hours a day, once a week, for 4 months.

Fingerprinting must be completed before first day. Must be willing to drive to Thornton for fingerprint appointment. Must complete Mandated Reporter Training and Cultural Diversity Training.

Experience working with children ages 6-14 years old is helpful.
