Project Background
The Public Works Department, in partnership with the City of Longmont, is planning to widen East County Line Road from Zlaten Drive/Great Western Drive to St. Vrain Creek (see a map of the project area).
The widening will:
- Add seven-foot wide paved shoulders to a short section of East County Line Road to provide continuous paved shoulders from Longmont down to Quicksilver Road and the city’s St. Vrain Trailhead.
- Improve road geometry to eliminate an offset lane alignment on southbound East County Line Road.
- View project exhibits
Schedule
Construction will begin in October 2024 and is anticipated to last through February 2025. East County Line Road will need to be CLOSED FROM OCT. 21 through November, weather permitting. Detours will be posted. Before and after the closure period, expect single-lane closures during daytime, weekday working hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
