One in four Americans aged 65 and over fall each year. A fall can have serious impacts on long-term health, day-to-day function, and independence. The good news is that many falls can be prevented. Join us to learn how strengthening community connections can keep you and those you care for safe with our activities during Falls Prevention Month 2025. If you are already exercising on a regular basis, keep it up! If you haven’t been active in the last few years, don’t worry. But remember to check in with your doctor before starting to find out which types of exercise are best for you.

A Mindful Approach to Falls Prevention

In this course you’ll learn how to fall without injury, while building the confidence and strength to get back up again and again! After finding your center through meditation and Japanese yoga, you’ll warm up your body with light core exercises and stretches, then practice safe falling on a forgiving

Balance Tests

What: This program is designed to evaluate and improve your balance through a series of standardized tests and guided assessments. Feldenkrais: Move with Ease – A Free Introduction

What: The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education® helps participants learn to move with ease using slow, mindful movements to achieve powerful results in terms of balance, flexibility, and coordination. Feldenkrais relates directly to functional movements of daily life and an improved sense of grounding, walking and support. Lessons will be done seated, standing, and lying on a mat. Bone Appetite: Holistic Approach to Rebuilding Bone Health

Think First to Prevent Falls

What: This four-week Falls Prevention Series offers a well-rounded approach to staying safe and steady. Learn practical tips and balance exercises from a team of experts, including a physical or occupational therapist, pharmacist, community safety specialist, and vision expert, covering key topics to help reduce the risk of falling.
