Time Commitment and Minimum Age:

Minimal of 2 hours per week per semester (Fall & Spring) to maximum of 20 hours per week. Must be at least 15 years old.

Location:

Casa de la Esperanza Learning Center, 1520 South Emery St., Longmont, CO 80501 (southeast corner of Hwy 287 and Pike Road)

Program Summary:

The Casa de la Esperanza program was initiated to serve the 100+ children and youth living on site. The program responds to the unique needs of the dozens of farm workers families. Casa de la Esperanza’s educational center is a state of the art learning center providing opportunities and resources toward excellence and self-empowerment through collaboration and programming that nurture each individual’s potential. Our vision is one of a thriving community that encourages those around us by exemplifying the ideals of education, leadership, and self-sustainability

Duties and Responsibilities:

Promote and support math, literacy, other content areas including access to higher education, by tutoring kid’s afterschool.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Aged 15 or older, own transportation or able to use public transportation. Volunteers must commit to at least 2 hours a day, once a week, for 4 months.

Training Dates and Information:

Fingerprinting must be completed before first day. Must be willing to drive to Thornton for fingerprint appointment. Must complete Mandated Reporter Training and Cultural Diversity Training.

Additional Information:

Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus but not needed; experience in education and working with immigrant populations beneficial.
