Join your neighbors for a group discount on heat pumps
Boulder County and local municipalities are partnering with nonprofit Solar United Neighbors to bring you Switch Together, a group buying program for residential heat pumps.
By pooling many projects together, Switch Together lowers the cost of equipment and installation by a qualified, competitively selected heat pump installer. For even more savings, combine Switch Together with heat pump rebates and incentives from EnergySmart, Efficiency Works, Xcel Energy, and Power Ahead Colorado.
How Switch Together works
- Register: Sign up for Switch Together online at no cost.
- Contractor Selection: Vetted contractors compete in a bidding process. The most competitive bids for high-quality installations determine the final group discount.
- Personal offer: You will receive a personal offer from Switch Together based on your registration details. This offer will include your estimated costs, group savings, and information about the selected contractor for your neighborhood.
- You decide: You have until Nov. 18 to decide if you want to accept the offer. There is no obligation to accept. To secure your spot, you’ll be asked to place a $150 deposit, which is fully refundable if you choose not to proceed.
- Installation: If you accept, the winning contractor will contact you to schedule an initial consultation. If your home is found to be unsuitable, the installation will be canceled, and your deposit refunded.
Switch Together uses a group buy model to provide high-quality heat pump installations at a discounted rate. In this model, solar installers compete for a bulk contract by submitting proposals to Switch Together, and a panel of experts selects an installer for the group buy based on factors including cost and quality.
