Description
The Early Childhood Alliance has petitioned the Boulder County Board of Commissioners for approval of a proposed Service Plan for the organization of the First Five Years Early Childhood Development Service District, which proposes a new mill levy (of up to 5 mills) to fund proposed services. The Service Plan was filed with Boulder County on May 9, 2023. Pursuant to §§ 32-21-107 & 32-1-204, C.R.S., the Boulder County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on:
Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 4:30 pm, Historic Downtown Courthouse, 3rd Floor, 1325 Pearl Street, Boulder, Colorado 80302
The public hearing can be attended in person, online through Zoom, or by phone. Registration details will be available in the Commissioners' Advance Agenda on Friday, June 9.
Any person may attend the public hearing and share comments that support or object to the proposed Service Plan. Written comments may be sent to the Boulder County Commissioners by email commissioners@bouldercounty.org
Mill Levy
The Service Plan proposes a mill levy of up to 5 mills to be levied on all taxable property within the legal boundaries of the proposed District. There is no statutory maximum mill levy. Voter approval is required for any future tax increases and the Service Plan requires specific notice by the District prior to referring any future tax increase to the voters.
