Description
Learn about weed management on Boulder County Parks & Open Space properties.
The program will start with a brief introduction, then we’ll get into vans and drive to local open space properties to learn about the variety of weed management tools the county uses, including mechanical controls (mowing, hand pulling, fire), biological controls (bugs), herbicides, grazing, and revegetation. You’ll hear about the challenges of cheatgrass control, the county’s research and monitoring programs, and the pros and cons of each management tool. You may even get to see some rare and unusual plants!
This tour is part of the update process to Parks & Open Space's weed management policies and procedures. Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee members may be in attendance.
