Join Boulder County Elections Staff for a tour of the Ballot Processing Center. You'll follow the journey of a ballot from when it first enters our processing facility through every step from signature verification through scanning and counting. During the tour, you'll get a behind the scenes glimpse into what it takes to put together a successful, secure, and trustworthy election. And you'll have an opportunity to ask elections staff questions along every step of the journey. The Ballot Processing Center is inside the main Boulder County Clerk & Recorder's office in Boulder. The Boulder County Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) is an advisory board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to provide guidance to the county on historic preservation issues. Its primary focus is to review structures and sites for historic significance and to review building or development plans which might affect these resources. HPAB also reviews landmark applications and must approve building plans which result in the alteration of an historic landmark. Each HPAB meeting is a public hearing, and at the beginning of each meeting anyone may address the Board with historic preservation concerns or questions. Open public comment addressed to the County Commissioners typically occurs at 9 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month unless the date falls on a holiday or needs to be rescheduled due to a calendar conflict. Members of the public can sign up to speak in advance or on the day of public comment. Public comment is taken in-person (in the hearing room) or virtually via Zoom. The NEPPIDAC is an independent committee that provides Boulder County Commissioners with recommendations regarding the administration of the Nederland EcoPass Public Improvement District. While the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has the legal authority and responsibility to make decisions regarding the operation and finances of the District, the Committee members serve in an advisory capacity to the BOCC. The public is invited to observe the Boulder County Election Division’s 2026 Coordinated Election risk-limiting audit (RLA) beginning on Tuesday, July 14. The risk-limiting audit is a test that helps ensure the accuracy of election results and provides the public with evidence that election outcomes reflect the votes cast by voters on their ballots. To ensure tabulation was accurate, the process reviews how a ballot’s votes were captured at the time it was processed by comparing a sample of paper ballots with digital tallies. Testing will begin with seal verification starting at 12 p.m. Presentation and ballot pulling to begin at 12:30 p.m. The RLA could continue into Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, if necessary. During the meeting, staff presents data that provides evidence to certify the election. This includes voter registration changes during the election and election results including ballots received versus ballots counted, including mail ballots and in-person ballots. Children ages 3-6 will love to visit the farm to learn about animals, plants, and agricultural life. Come learn all about horses and their work on the farm, then meet our horses. All programs include a short story time, hands-on activities, and a take-home craft. Afterwards, explore the farm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.
