The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Parks & Open Space real estate matters on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Bald Mountain 2026 Sunshine Fire Protection District Taking for Cistern Sunshine Fire Protection District proposes to acquire a permanent non-exclusive easement over 0.07 acres of the Bald Mountain open space property for installation of a 40,000-gallon cistern that will store water to fight fires in the area. The property is located at 4111 Sunshine Canyon Drive near the intersections of Sunshine Canyon Drive and County Road 83. Action Requested: Approval Heatherwood Notch and Jafay 2026 Xcel Taking Xcel Energy proposes to acquire a permanent non-exclusive easement over 0.615 acres of the Jafay and Heatherwood Notch open space properties for installation of underground power lines. The property is located near the intersections of 75th Street and Lookout Road. You don’t need to be an expert today to become an Election Champion this fall! Learn more about this training. This workshop will take place at Best Day Ever Coffee and Crepes in Longmont.
