Boulder Community Housing Corporation

Boulder Community Housing Corporation (BCHC) supports families working toward stability and independence. We help create and fund programs that focus on youth, financial growth, and healthy aging.

Some examples of our work:

• We run a robotics and STEM program at Casa de la Esperanza for youth. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math.
• We offer scholarships for families in the Family Self-Sufficiency program.
• We help older adults live safe, active lives at home.
• We help tenants through programs that serve several generations.
• We partner with Boulder County Family and Children Services on the Family-to-Family Holiday Gift program.

Boulder Community Housing Corporation also helps support Willoughby Corner. It is Boulder County’s newest affordable housing community. We work to create more affordable rentals and homes to buy for low- and middle-income households.

Serving on the BCHC Board is a chance to make a real difference in Boulder County. Board members help guide the future of affordable housing and support services. Their work creates more stability and more chances for people in need.

To be a board member, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Know about affordable housing and support services in Boulder County, or want to learn about them.
• Have experience or interest in one of these fields. Fields include property development, housing management, case management, program planning, finance, architecture, or law.

Residents of Boulder County Housing Authority (BCHA) housing may also serve on the board. BCHA staff cannot serve as board members.

The board has five members:

• Three members are independent community members.
• Two members are nominated by the BCHA Executive Director and approved by the independent members.

Each term lasts three years. Board members meet four times a year.

How to Submit a Complaint

Share your concern directly with Gwen Mossman at gmossman@bouldercounty.gov.

Please include, if you can:

• Your name and how to reach you
• What happened
• When and where it happened
• Names of people involved, if known
• Any documents or details that may help

You may submit a complaint even if you do not have all these details.

What Happens After You Report

• Your complaint will be reviewed promptly and respectfully.
• BCHC will use Boulder County policies and procedures to address the concern.
• We will make best efforts to prevent further harm and respond appropriately.
• Outcomes may include training, mediation, policy changes, or other actions. Serious violations may lead to discipline, up to termination.

Privacy and Protection

• We will keep your details as private as possible.
• Retaliation for making a complaint or participating in a review is not allowed.
• You can report concerns even if you are unsure whether what happened meets a legal definition.

Young people at Casa de la Esperanza build and program their own robots. They learn science, math, and teamwork. They also compete against other teams across Colorado. Your gift pays for robot kits and parts, competition fees, and team travel.

Family Self-Sufficiency, or FSS, helps Boulder County families set their own goals. Families can also build savings and plan for what comes next.
