  • The Workforce Virtual Computer Training Center (CTC) offers free, self-guided programs to help people gain a variety of computer skills. We use software called Custom Guide that allows people to improve their computer skills from wherever they have access to a computer and the Internet. You can also have access to the CTC at one of two office locations in Boulder and Longmont.Through interactive e-learning, people can move at their own pace, select the programs they want to learn, and grow their skills and confidence. Specific computer skills include:
      • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Project, Teams, Office Fundamentals;
      • Google Gmail, Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides
      • Business Writing, Effective Presentations, Email Etiquette, Zoom

  • Resident of Boulder County or live within St. Vrain Valley School District
  • Create an account in Connecting Colorado
  • Basic-level computer skills are helpful, since this program is self-directed
  • Motivated to build your computer skills!
  • Free access to computer trainings.
  • You can pick and choose which trainings you need. If you don’t know where to get started, we’re here! Reach out and we’ll help determine the best place for you to begin.
  • You’ll can work as much as you want on Custom Guide at your schedule and pace. Workforce is here for you if you have any questions along the way.
  • All users will have an expiration date in Custom Guide.
    • This date will be on the last day of the following month of when you were signed up in Custom Guide.
    • If you are still wanting or needing to use the software after the expiration date, contact us at ctcinfo@bouldercouny.org and we will reset the expiration date for you.
    • There is no limit on the number of times this may be requested!
  • After you have completed one of the program courses, Custom Guide will unlock a certificate of completion for that course.
  • These computer training courses are a great resume builder.

  • Once we receive your request, we will get you set up in Custom Guide.
  • We will send you a link via email with a username and password that allows you access to the computer training in Custom Guide.
    • Requests may take up to two business days for processing.
