Program Summary:
Limber pine is an ecologically valuable species that serves many functional roles in higher elevation ecosystems. Across its range, limber pine faces multiple threats, including mountain pine beetle, white pine blister rust, and dwarf mistletoe. The presence of these agents individually can lead to extensive tree mortality, but their combined impact can be even more devastating, posing a significant threat to the long-term sustainability of the species. One strategy to aid recovery is planting seedlings to get more limber pine on the landscape.
Volunteers are needed to plant limber pine seedlings on one of our mountain properties.
Registration is required through Discover Boulder County, Parks & Open Space’s volunteer and event registration system. If you’re new to the system, you’ll need to create an account. But it’s easy and we only use your contact information to communicate about events you register for. We will never sell or give your information to a third party.
