Deceased Male Located in Chautauqua Meadow
Boulder County, Colo. - On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of a possibly deceased male west of Blue Bell Road on City of Boulder managed open space in the Chautauqua Meadow area.
Upon their arrival, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks rangers located an 18-year-old male, who was pronounced deceased by a physician from Rocky Mountain Rescue. An on-scene investigation was conducted by detectives from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office as well as investigators from the Boulder County Coroner's Office. Following the on-scene investigation, the deceased male was carried back to the trailhead by rescuers from Rocky Mountain Rescue and turned over to the Coroner’s Office.
At this time, foul play is not suspected; however, the investigation remains on-going. The incident will be investigated by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder County Coroner's Office. The Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the decedent.
