Susan Steven
Susan Steven is a professional artist and retired art teacher from the St. Vrain Valley School District. She received her art education degree, with honors, from San Diego State University and the University of San Diego where she received the “Student of the Year” award. Susan taught art and photography at Skyline High School for 15 years then at Apex School, a program for home-school students who attend a public school once a week. She has also taught painting classes at Michael’s craft stores as well as many private classes and workshops.
Along with her teaching career, Susan is President of the Longmont Artist Guild, an active member of the Louisville Art Association and the Boulder Art Association. She has been on many art show committees, helped develop a STEM public school program, created school art clubs, and has coordinated student art exhibits over the last 25 years. She is grateful and proud to have taken high school students on an art history tour through England, Italy, and France.
Susan has been a professional, award-winning artist and art instructor for over 30 years in California, Alaska, Hawaii, and Colorado. Her artwork has sold all over the world including Japan, Germany, England, and France. She is very passionate about the arts and feels fortunate to know and work with so many other wonderful talented artists. You can often find Susan working in her art studio at home, traveling around the world visiting art museums and galleries, learning new techniques at art workshops, and spending time with her family, friends and her little rescue Maltese, Vinny Van Go.
