Wildland fire near 500 block of Flagstaff Summit Road in Boulder County, CO

Wildland fire extinguished near 500 block of Flagstaff Summit Road less than 1/4 acre

Boulder County, Colo.

On January 30th, 2017, at about 4:25 p.m., members with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Boulder Fire Department and the City of Boulder Mountain Parks and Open Space Rangers responded to the area of the 500 block of Flagstaff Summit Road in Boulder County, CO on the report of a wildland fire.

The wildland fire was initially reported by a passer-by, who saw the smoke from the UTE trail. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, which had only grown to approximately 1/4 of an acre in size. No structures were threatened by the fire and there were no people in the area. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Rangers with the City of Boulder Mountain Parks and Open Space will monitor the area to ensure the fire doesn't flare up.
