Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County Clerk & Recorder Hillary Hall will host a webinar to help explain what categories and groups of ballots are left to be counted after Election Day.

Every election there are “categories” of ballots that will be counted, and have the potential to be counted, at the end of the 8th day after the election. For instance, military and overseas mail ballots can be received up until the 8th day after the election and still be counted (See 2015 post-election press release).

In this webinar, Clerk Hall will review all the types of categories (buckets, if you will) of ballots that the parties and candidates should expect to be remaining the day after the election.

“I wanted to host this webinar in order to help bring clarity in terms of how the final ballots are processed and what is and what may be outstanding the day after the election,” stated Clerk Hall. “These remaining categories, or buckets of ballots, are not unique to Boulder County, but given that we have several competitive races, this information is especially important if a contest is close. Since everyone will be very sleep deprived come June 29, I thought now would be a good time to share with everyone what to expect after the last results from Election Day are posted.”

Upcoming Key Dates for the 2016 Primary Election:

June 20

• Voter Service and Polling Centers open.
• Last day to register and still receive a ballot in the mail.

June 24

• Drive-by Ballot Drop-off locations open.

June 28 Primary Election

• Ballot drop-off and voting services available 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. to be counted.
