UPDATE: Structure fire investigation in Gunbarrel

One of the residents of the involved apartment in the 4600 block of White Rock Circle has died; the investigation continues

Boulder, Colo. - Sheriff's investigators learned late last week that one of the occupants transported by ambulance from the scene of an apartment fire on April 21 has died. The man, a 42-year-old resident of the Gunbarrel apartment in the 4600 block of White Rock Circle, was removed from life support Wednesday evening and died a short time later. The Boulder County Coroner's Office has joined the investigation and is responsible for determining the cause and manner of his death, as well as publically identifying him.

Sheriff's detectives are investigating the fire as a criminal act. Assisting detectives in the investigation are members of the Boulder County Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT). Once the MAFIT team has reached their conclusion into the cause and origin of the fire, the Sheriff's investigators can complete their investigation and additional information can be released.

The original press release about the fire can be located HERE.

The case number assigned to this investigation is 17-2320.
