Update: Structure fire investigation in Gunbarrel

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office investigators and the
Boulder County Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT) have concluded an
investigation into the cause and origin of an apartment fire that took place on
April 21 in the 4600 block of White Rock Circle, unincorporated Boulder County.

Investigators believe the cause of the fire was incendiary,
and that it was done as a deliberate act by Kelly Carter, a 42-year-old
resident of the Gunbarrel apartment, during a domestic dispute.

Mr. Carter died from injuries sustained during the fire and
as a result no criminal charges will be filed.
