Update: Arson investigation near 95th Street/ Hills View Drive in Boulder County
Suspect arrested and charged with multiple felonies
Niwot, Colo. - An arrest
warrant was issued for a suspect in the arson investigation of a barn fire that
took place on October 1 near the intersection of 95th Street and
Hills View Drive in unincorporated Boulder County. The barn fire killed four
horses and is being investigated as an arson case.
An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect,
Christopher Thomas Reyes, age 30, of Aurora, for the following charges:
- One count of 1st Degree
Arson, a class 3 felony - One count of Criminal Mischief, a
class 3 felony - Four counts of Aggravated Cruelty to
Animals, a class 6 felony
Reyes was arrested in Sevier County, Utah, last week on unrelated traffic charges. Reyes was still in-custody at the time the arrest warrant was issued. Reyes remains in-custody in Utah, pending extradition, on the arrest warrant.
The on-going
investigation is being conducted by the Boulder County Sheriff's Office and the
Multi Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT).
The Boulder County Sheriff's
Office case number for this incident is #17-5766. A previously issued press release mistakenly
said that the associated case number was #17-5677.
