Structure Fire in the 200 block of Main Street in Lyons Colorado
Boulder County, Colo. - On March 21, 2017 at approximately 12:40 am, the Boulder Regional Communications Center received 911 phone calls reporting a structure fire at 216 Main Street, in the town of Lyons. Callers stated they could see flames coming from the business, Mojos Taqueria.
Deputies with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office along with members from the Lyons, Hygiene, and Lefthand Fire Protection Districts and medical personnel from American Medical Response responded and found an active fire. When deputies arrived the majority of the damage was to a wooden deck and the exterior wall of the building.
The fire was quickly put out but the business suffered significant damage. At this time the estimate for the damage is between $20,000 and $30,000. No injuries were reported and no other structures were damaged.
The cause and the origin of the fire are unknown at this time and are still under investigation by the Multi Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT). At this time the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature.
