Structure Fire at 4713 Spine Road
Renter suffers minor burns after garage fire
Boulder County, Colo. - At approximately 8:24 pm, on November 21st Boulder County Communications Center Dispatch received 911 calls in regards to a structure fire at 4713 Spine Rd, in the County of Boulder, Colorado.
Members of the Boulder Rural Fire Protection District, Mountain View Fire Protection District, the Boulder Fire Department, the Louisville Fire Department, the Lafayette Fire Department, Rocky Mountain Fire Department, Paramedics with American Medical Response (AMR) and deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded to the address. The fire started and was contained to the garage at the address. The resident of the address received minor burns while attempting to extinguish the fire, with a portable fire extinguisher.
Once Boulder Rural Fire arrived on scene the fire was completely extinguished with minor damage to the garage door, as well as several small hand tools that where in close vicinity of where the fire begin.
A member of the Multi Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT) responded and determined the fire was possibly started by a several old batteries that were collected in in a small bucket. The batteries were stored near several rags as well as flammable cleaning solvents, which escalated the fire. At this time there are no signs of malicious intent with the nature of this fire.
No other structures or property were damaged. No other residents were evacuated. No other injuries other than to the one resident were reported.
