Small Wildland Fire near Gross Reservoir

Boulder County, Colo. - On July 11,2017 at approximately 7:33 pm the Boulder County Regional Communications Center started receiving 911 phone calls regarding a Wildland Fire in the area of Gross Reservoir.

Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office along with members of the Rocky Mountain Fire Department responded to the area and determined the fire was west of the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Lakeshore Park Road near the North Shore parking lot of Gross Reservoir.

Upon their arrival they found several neighbors were already attempting to put the fire out using buckets of water and the fire had almost been completely extinguished. The fire was completely extinguished shortly after deputies and fire personnel arrived.

The fire was contained to an area of approximately 10 feet by 20 feet. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

At this time the cause of the fire is unknown and the fire will be investigated by the United States Forest Service (USFS) investigators.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office case number for this incident is 17-4005.
