RSVP by Nov. 30 for this festive holiday event specifically geared to affirm the lives of Boulder County LGBT older adults

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will host the 16th Annual Lavender Gala on Sunday, Dec. 4, in Lafayette. The Lavender Gala is a holiday event specifically geared to affirm the lives of Boulder County LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender) older adults. Friends, family and allies of this diverse community are welcome to attend.

• What: 16th Annual Lavender Gala, a celebration for the Boulder County LGBT community age 60 and better, plus friends, families, and allies
• When: Sunday, Dec. 1-4 p.m.
• Where: Nissi’s Bistro, 2675 North Park Drive, Lafayette
• Cost: $10 in advance, $15 at the door
• RSVP: by Wednesday, Nov. 30

A 2015 attendee reported, “The whole atmosphere made me happy. Seeing old friends was very important to me.” Another shared that, “It reminds me of the importance of the LGBT community as we age.” Organizer Nancy Grimes of the AAA notes, "We particularly encourage those who don’t get out much to attend this event. The venue is accessible, there is plenty of parking, and we’ll be done before dark. We’ll even have the Broncos on the big screen in the bar for people who don’t want to miss the game.”

Entertainment for the event includes jazz duo Ostevetto; and perennial favorites Jeffrey Kash as Mrs. Eda Bagel, and DJ Susie Pringle. Those who register in advance have a chance to win one of the popular door prizes. Light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks are included, and a cash bar is offered. RSVP by Wednesday, Nov. 30. The cost is $10 in advance, or $15 at the door. Festive attire is encouraged.
