Sheriff's Office staff, volunteers, partner agencies, and community members honored

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office formally recognized team
members, volunteers, partner agencies, and individuals in the community whose
exceptional service, teamwork, heroism, or gallantry in the line of duty
embodies the mission and values of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office on
Saturday.

Sheriff’s Commendations were awarded to 11 community members
and CEMEX whose actions aided in the delivery of services, or enhanced the
effectiveness of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. These awards were for a
wide variety of actions including: aiding and comforting an assault victim,
rendering aid by lifting and carrying an elderly gentleman to safety, stopping
a suicide attempt, and partnering with the Boulder County Regional Bomb Squad. Staff
members from Boulder County Parks & Open Space and Colorado State Patrol were
also recognized for their outstanding public service.

The significant contributions of volunteers were recognized
with the awards of Volunteer Excellence, Volunteer of the Year, and Reserve
Deputy of the Year. Volunteer contributions included: volunteering with the SWAT
team firearms program, maintaining the historical archives, facilitating victim
impact classes, assisting with employee promotion assessment centers, conducting
building tours, organizing a National Night Out event, and a Cadet who
volunteered over 500 hours in the last year. These significant contributions
aided the department in carrying out the mission of providing efficient and
effective public safety services.

Sheriff’s Commendations, Teamwork Award of Excellence,
Distinguished Unit Citations and Employees of the Year were awarded to
employees or teams for distinguished or outstanding achievement in the line of
duty or noteworthy performance.

Meritorious Service Medal for service excellence over a
number of years was conferred to 14 staff members.

The Life Saving Medal was conferred 17 times to staff
members for their actions that saved a life. Deputy Garrett Pacotti, who works
at the Boulder County Jail, received two lifesaving medals.

Excellence in law enforcement and public safety is always
