Reminder – Floodplain Mapping Project open house next Tuesday, Jan. 31 – Stream reach added
Boulder County Transportation and the State of Colorado are hosting a series of public meetings to present draft floodplain maps for major stream corridors in unincorporated county from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Colorado Hazard Mapping Program (CHAMP). These sessions are an opportunity for the public to review draft updated map information for locations in unincorporated Boulder County as listed for each meeting below. Locations outside of the defined map review areas for each meeting will not be discussed. Additional public meetings will be scheduled as map updates are received.
Public Map Review Session for Specific Waterways
Residents along these stream reaches and other interested parties are invited to attend an open house map review session and a public presentation led by state and county staff at each meeting. A presentation will be followed by a question and answer session and an opportunity for attendees to explore maps and provide feedback directly to project team members. Boulder County wants the draft maps to accurately reflect local flood risk, which is why residents living along these creeks are encouraged to be involved and provide input at this stage. Comments gathered will be evaluated and provided to the state team for their consideration during their next round of revisions, floodplain modeling, and mapping.
