Reminder: Boulder County seeks public input on agricultural land use issues

Public comments requested by Jan. 12 for Open House in Longmont on Thurs., Jan. 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Boulder County is working with the community regarding the current Land Use Code and other regulations that affect agricultural operations. Some members of the agricultural community have previously expressed concerns to county staff about challenges posed by existing regulations.

As a result, a team of staff from Boulder County Land Use, Public Health, Parks & Open Space, and CSU Extension would like to hear from anyone with concerns associated with agriculture.

Public Comment

The county has created a variety of opportunities for public engagement.

Potential topics for discussion include regulations that affect:

  • Farm labor and housing,
  • Food handling and safety,
  • Agricultural tourism,
  • On-farm sales, and
  • Greenhouses.

Input can be provided through the county’s website (www.bit.ly/BoCoAgOutreach). Posts to the form on that site will allow others in the community to see and respond to submitted feedback. Input received before Jan. 12 will be used to inform the discussion at the Open House on Jan. 18. View comments submitted via the online form.
