Draft maps currently available online

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Transportation and the State of
Colorado are inviting residents of the
unincorporated areas along James Creek, upper Left Hand Creek (details below),
North St. Vrain Creek, Fourmile Creek, Gold Run, and lower Fourmile Canyon
Creek (details below) and other interested parties to attend an open house draft
map review public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 20. Attendees can review and provide input on draft
floodplain maps from the Colorado Hazard Mapping Program (CHAMP) and
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Boulder County wants the draft
maps to accurately reflect local flood risk, which is why residents living
along area creeks and rivers are encouraged to get involved and provide input
at this early stage. Staff will be available to answer questions and take
comments.

What: Open House for the following reaches -

Fourmile Creek, Gold Run, lower Fourmile Canyon Creek (Pinto Dr. to city limits), James Creek, upper Left Hand Creek (Hwy 72 to and incl. Geer Canyon), North St. Vrain Creek along Longmont Dam Rd.

When: Tuesday, Feb. 20, 5 to 7 p.m.

Where: Boulder Elks Lodge, 3975 28th St., Boulder

Public comment and input on the draft floodplain
maps will be taken at this meeting and can also be provided via an interactive
web map before or after the meeting. To access the web map, visit www.BoCoFloodplainRemapping.com and
select "Review Draft Floodplain Maps." All comments related to these
draft maps must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 4 to
be incorporated into the county’s submission to CHAMP for their consideration
during their next round of revisions, floodplain modeling, and mapping.

Review of Left Hand Creek below Geer Canyon will occur at a
later date and public meeting(s) will be scheduled and announced on the county
website, the county calendar, in project newsletters, via the listserv, social
media (Facebook and Twitter), and through the various watershed coalitions.
