Public Hearing on the consideration of Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan updates set for Jan. 26
Members of the public
should sign up online to speak on specific topics
Boulder County, Colo. - The Board of County Commissioners and the Boulder County
Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Jan. 26 at the Boulder County
Courthouse on Pearl Street to take public input on whether to move forward, or
remove certain properties or policy requests from consideration for amendment
in the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan.

Note: The
planning Commission is expected to make decisions at the Jan. 26 hearing. The
Board of County Commissioners will not make a decision at the Jan. 26 hearing. A
public meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. in the
Commissioners’ Hearing Room for deliberation on the Commissioners’ decision. No
further public comment will be taken at that time.
What: County
staff will provide an update to the Board of County Commissioners to
hear change
requests and staff’s recommendations regarding docket BVCP-
15-0001: Boulder
Valley Comprehensive Plan update. Requestors for each
potential amendment will
have a chance to speak, followed by public
comment. No decision will be made by
the Board of County Commissioners
at this hearing.
When: Tuesday,
Jan. 26 beginning at 5 p.m.
Where: Boulder
County Commissioners Hearing Room, 1325 Pearl St., 3rd Floor,
Boulder.
For
this hearing we will be administering online
sign-up for anyone wishing to provide their comments to the Board in
person. After 12-noon on Thursday, Jan.
21 an electronic sign-up form for Individual Speakers and Pool Time groups
will become available at http://bit.ly/BVCP2016.
Speakers
signing up for Pooled Time will need to include the names and addresses for
anyone donating their time. Pool Time speakers can have a maximum of 5 minutes
to speak (provided that a minimum of 2 other people donate their time).
Individual speakers will have 2 minutes each.
Speakers
will be organized in the order that their sign-up submission is received online
and will be placed in a time slot which correlates to the topic each speaker
wishes to address. The list of speakers will be available on the website the
morning of Jan. 26 for reference and planning purposes. Assigned time slots are approximate and speakers must be present when
they are called to speak.
In-person
sign-ups on Jan. 26 will be accepted, but those speakers will be added to the
end of the speaker list. To assure you
are signed up to speak for the correct topic and earlier in the evening,
sign-up online or call the Land Use Office to be added to the list. Anyone
needing assistance adding their name to the list can call 720-564-2605, email rhackett@bouldercounty.org, or stop by the
Land Use Office
at 2045 13th Street, Boulder.
PowerPoint
presentations, or any other projected imagery will not be permitted at this
hearing. Any digital presentation material can be printed and provided to the
Planning Commissioners and Board of County Commissioners at the hearing.
In
order to be considered in time for the hearing, the Commissioners’ have
requested that written comments be submitted by mail, in person to the Land Use
Office, or by email to planner@bouldercounty.org by Friday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. Written comments will be accepted
after the deadline, but may not be reviewed in time for the public hearing.
