Proposed floodplain code amendments public meeting – Tuesday, July 26

Q&A session for coalition members and the public to help everyone better understand recent proposed amendments to the floodplain regulations

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder
County area watershed coalitions and Boulder County staff will hold a question
and answer session for coalition members and the public to help everyone better
understand recent proposed amendments to the floodplain regulations.

Updates
to the Boulder County Flood Codes are currently being considered in order to:

  • Create
    a transparent public process for incorporation of best available data for
    regulator use;
  • Revise
    language regarding non-conforming structures and uses to be consistent with the
    rest of the code;
  • Revise
    language regarding appeals and variances to decisions made under the floodplain
    regulations to be consistent with the rest of the code; and,
  • Update
    related provisions in the code in order to best protect the health, safety, and
    welfare of county residents in the event of future floods.

The proposed updates only affect
