Plane makes emergency landing on Boulder County Open Space

Pilot did not sustain injuries

Boulder County, Colo. - At approximately 9:40 a.m. this morning the Boulder County
Communications Center was notified of a small plane that made an emergency
landing in a hay field behind 11497 Jasper Road, Erie, which is on the Boulder County open space Wise property.

The pilot made the emergency landing due to mechanical
issues. It was a single occupant plane and the pilot did not sustain injuries.
There also does not appear to be damage to any other property. The plane is
intact and on its wheels.

The Cessna 210 was flying out of Centennial Airport and was
in the area conducting aerial surveys. The pilot was attempting to make an emergency
landing at the Erie Airport.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder County Parks & Open Space, and the Erie Police Department are on scene and are awaiting arrival of the National Transportation Safety
Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, who will be handling the investigation.

The Erie Police Department associated case number is: 17-2388.
