Welcome to the November edition of the People Engaged in Raising Leaders (P.E.R.L.) monthly newsletter. This newsletter is meant to keep PERL graduates informed about new board and commission opportunities in Boulder County. We also invite non profit organizations, businesses, and city and county commissions to share these opportunities when they open up. The Boulder Housing Coalition (BHC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Community Housing Development Organization dedicated to creating affordable, sustainable, community-enhancing, cooperative housing for the people of Boulder county.

The
Boulder County AIDS Project, a 501(c)(3) organization, is recruiting new board
members to fill immediate vacancies. Established in 1985, their mission is to
provide support, advocacy and education to those in our community who are
living with or affected by HIV and AIDS, and to serve as an outreach and
information center to prevent the further transmission of HIV.

They
are looking for individuals with a diverse and broad range of strengths,
experience, and skills who are interested in having a positive impact on the
community. Skillsets needed
include healthcare, governance, finance, business, fundraising, social justice.
Monthly meetings are held on the 4th Monday, 6 p.m. at the YWCA of Boulder.

The Latino Leadership Institute (LLI) at the University of Denver, is currently recruiting for the next cohort of Latino leaders. The Latino Leadership Institute is the nation’s premier professional development program advancing an elite network of Latino leaders. The ideal candidate for this Fellowship will have demonstrated success in their professional careers and a commitment to further developing themselves as community leaders through the LLI. The Fellow must be highly motivated, open to growth and committed to advancing the Latino community. The candidate should have a minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience. Equity and Inclusion in Leadership Networking Call- November 9

Noon- 1 p.m.

This is the STAR Center's monthly national networking call for people of color who are interested in increasing the number of people in organizational leadership roles who are African-American, Native American/American Indian/Alaskan Native, Latino/Hispanic or Asian/Pacific Islanders. Despite growing numbers and all the available resources focused on racial equity, the level of participation by people of color in policy related and non-profit organizational roles remains devastatingly low. This webinar provides opportunities for people of color to network and support each other’s leadership efforts across the country and in our target states/regions to make a measurable and remarkable difference towards eliminating the disparities we currently experience across the country.
