The Boulder County boards and commissions bi-annual recruitment will begin this Friday, July 7.

There will be over 25 openings including the

Adult Protection Board, Board of Review, Extension Advisory Board, Mosquito Advisory Board, Nederland EcoPass Public Improvement District, Resources Conservation Advisory Board, Workforce Development Board among others.

Boulder County Board and Commission Highlights

Child Protection Review Team is seeking a Community Representative to serve in an advisory capacity to the Boulder County Department of Housing and Human Services. Duties include reviewing child protection cases. Qualifications include being a parent, stepparent, grandparent or foster parent preferred, the ability to process emotionally charged information and the ability to follow confidentiality protocol. The time commitment is one year and meetings are held weekly in Longmont and Boulder. The application will be available on July 7 here. The Reentry Initiative is recruiting board candidates interested and passionate about reentry. This project aims to support previously incarcerated women transitioning into society.

Previous board experience isn’t necessary and a desire and willingness to jump right in and learn is appreciated. Experience from the corporate sector, fundraising, media or in the criminal justice/corrections is also helpful. They are also seeking people from the African American and Latino communities to join the board.

Harvest of Hope Pantry is a Boulder food pantry serving
Boulder families and individuals in need of food aid, both those with kitchens
and those without. They are seeking board members who can understand the challenges clients experience as well as bring a unique and culturally diverse
perspective.

Board meetings are the 4th Wednesday of each month and are held from 6:30-8pm in
Boulder. Board members are required to make a donation which is personally
significant, and are only permitted two board meeting absences. Participation
through conference call is permitted. Prospective board members are required to
meet with the ED and fill out a board application. They are also required to be
involved as a volunteer prior to coming on board, either as a committee
volunteer (Programs, Development, Events) or an on-site volunteer. For more information, please contact: Heather Pollock at heather@hopepantry.org.


The Community Foundation and the Boulder Chamber are making an open call for applicants to their joint leadership and networking program: Leadership Fellows Boulder County. This will be the 9th Fellows cohort, and the 5th year of a merged program combining the strengths of the Community Foundation and Boulder Chamber's long-standing commitment and experience in local leadership development.

Leadership Fellows Boulder County will again provide approximately 35 emerging and transformational leaders from across sectors with a broad understanding of Boulder County’s economic, civic and cultural drivers. The program offers participants a deep appreciation for the social, environmental and economic interests our leaders must balance in their decisions. Additionally, the program is heavily focused on transformational and inclusive leadership practices. You can fill out the application here. Scholarships are available!

Those
interested in civic engagement across Boulder County are invited to register
for the Fall/Winter 2017 P.E.R.L. training program. This ten-week session will focus
on connecting our communities with non-profit organizations and commissions
ready to embrace inclusion.This training program educates individuals from
Boulder County’s diverse communities about the inner-workings of boards and
commissions. Participants learn about leadership development, communication
styles, budgeting, fundraising and more.
