Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder
County will host a ribbon cutting ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m. on Monday,
Aug. 8 to mark the completion of permanent flood repairs to the Salina Junction
in Fourmile Canyon. The event will be held at Salina Junction, which is at the
intersection of Fourmile Canyon Drive and Gold Run Road. Salina Junction
reconstruction is the latest permanent flood recovery project to be finished by
the county.

Boulder
County Commissioners, Transportation staff, and members of the project design
and construction team will be on hand to help celebrate the opening of this
critical mountain link for residents and visitors. Members of the public are
encouraged to attend. Due to limited parking space, people interested in
attending the ceremony are asked to carpool and park at the large pullout below
the junction.

The
reconstruction project consisted of the creation of a 110-foot long concrete
box culvert that runs down from Gold Run, under Fourmile Canyon Drive and into
Four Mile Creek. The five month project cost approximately $2.35 million to
construct and is eligible for federal reimbursement. Michael Baker, Inc.
assisted with the project design and American Civil Constructors completed the
work.
