Man found dead in Boulder Canyon just east of Nederland

The body of a 51-year-old Longmont man was found near Castle Rock by two fisherman

Nederland, Colo. - Just before noon today the body of a 51-year-old Longmont man was discovered by two fisherman in the area of Castle Rock, a popular climbing and recreational area in the 29,400 block of Boulder Canyon Drive, just east of Nederland. The man's body appeared to have been there for at least several hours before he was discovered. His vehicle was located a short distance away.

The man's death is under joint investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Boulder County Coroner's Office. The death does not appear to be related to a climbing or other outdoor recreational accident, nor does it appear suspicious. The Coroner's Office is responsible to determine the cause and manner of the man's death, and his identity is being withheld pending the notification of his family members.
