Lefthand Canyon Reconstruction – Blasting schedule for this week – Road closures in effect
Hello -
The contractor has scheduled a series of smaller blasts this week (starting today) for the stretch of Lefthand Canyon Drive between Lee Hill Drive and Glendale Gulch. In order to safely accommodate this work, Lefthand Canyon Drive will need to be closed between Lee Hill Drive and Lickskillet Road. The closures will be approximately 2-hours long, but the road may reopen sooner or later depending on how long it takes the contractor to clear debris from the road and ensure the hillsides are stable. Here is the road closure schedule for this work:
- TODAY - Monday, Aug. 29 - Closed noon to 2 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 30 - 9 to 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 31 - 9 to 11 a.m. AND noon to 2 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 1 - 9 to 11 a.m. AND noon to 2 p.m.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in your travel plans, and I'm sorry for the short notice of this work. Permission to excavate this area was recently granted and the contractor wants to continue making progress on the final stages of the road work.
PAVING CONTINUES
Paving work will also continue this week. A majority of the work over the next five days will take place between Olde Stage Road and James Canyon Drive. Expect delays. Flaggers will be used to move people around the paving operations. You may consider taking Lee Hill Road as an alternate route to avoid this work.
I hope you have a good week.
Sincerely,
Andrew
