Lefthand Canyon Project Update – Construction begins next Monday, Dec. 14

Hello Boulder County Transportation Listserv Subscriber -

The following information is a synopsis of work planned for Lefthand Canyon Drive from 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14 through noon on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Work will officially begin on permanent flood recovery-related reconstruction of Lefthand Canyon Drive and Lefthand Creek at 8 a.m. next Monday, Dec. 14. The work zone will extend from Olde Stage Road to James Canyon Drive. Access to Olde Stage Road and Lee Hill Drive will be maintained at all times. Lefthand Canyon Drive will see hour-long delays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The current plan is to allow traffic to move through the construction zone on the hour, each hour during weekday work. There may also be minimal delays before 8 a.m. each day as crews begin prepping for the days activities.

On Saturdays, travelers can expect to see up to 30-minute delays between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Lefthand between Olde Stage and James Canyon. There will be no travel restrictions on Sundays.

No work will take place between noon on Wednesday, Dec. 23 and 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4. When crews return from the holiday break on Jan. 4, daily road closures will be put in place for all travelers. The daily Lefthand Canyon Drive closures will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays, between Olde Stage Road and James Canyon Drive. Expect delays of up to 30-minutes on Saturdays, and no delays on Sundays.

The full roadway closure phase of work will last until May 20, 2016.

As always, a complete list of closures and other project information can be found at www.LefthandCanyon.com. You can also call me at 303-441-1032 if you have questions or comments.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we work to rebuild this beautiful canyon.

Have a good day.

Sincerely,

Andrew
